On the shores of the 2025 Aranya Theater Festival, artists Wang Zhigang and Sun Yu present Weaving Memories — a light art installation shaped like a contemporary Noah’s Ark, rich with metaphor and meaning. It invites you aboard, to embark on an immersive voyage through memory and into the future.
Woven from century-old colorful fishing ropes once used in harbors, the ark’s frame carries the weight of time. Light and shadow reenact the flood and the promise of rebirth. The coarse texture of mooring lines transforms into drifting constellations under projection, while mesh sails ripple like liquid metal — weaving a vessel unbound by time and space.
